Galway and the Wild Atlantic Way

When you study at Atlantic you are in the heart of Galway, voted one of the top cities in the world to visit by Lonely Planet, and at the gateway to the Wild Atlantic Way, a unique touring route which offers access to some of Ireland’s most spectacular coastal scenery.

Considered one of Ireland’s most charming and popular cities, Galway is a busy university city, small in size, but with a big metropolitan heart. Known for its cosy pubs and friendly cafes, Galway is famous for its hospitality which frequently spills onto the streets where there is a vibrant busking scene.

Wild Atlantic Way

Atlantic takes its name from the ocean which is on our doorstep and the sea is a key feature of our home city. Galway is at the centre of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, a beautiful coastal route all along the western seaboard of Ireland. From Galway you can take a day trip to some of the west coast’s most impressive attractions: the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, the Aran Islands and Connemara.

Our friendly Reception Staff will be happy to organise your tickets for a weekend day trip.
